Pundit amazed by '£82m' Liverpool player who's as ripped as 'Ronaldo' and incredibly fit
Noel Whelan has insisted Mo Salah would be worth “every single penny” of a £350,000-a-week contract at Liverpool.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, compared the 29-year-old to Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo for their levels of professionalism and dedication.
As revealed by Football Insider (14th October), Liverpool owners FSG are prepared to offer Salah a £350,000-a-week deal to tie him down.
The attacker’s current terms run until 2023 but there has been an impasse in negotiations.
However, the Reds are set to set aside their concerns and hand him a deal with a total of £82million.
Whelan insisted Liverpool could not afford to lose the Egypt international.

As such, he insisted the winger deserves the mega-money deal.
“I think you put him in the same kind of mould as Ronaldo,” Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“The way he looks after his body, his fitness levels. The way he can change a game and win a game single-handedly.
“We saw it only a couple of weeks ago, against Manchester City what he can do to top players in the world.
“He is one player that you would not want to lose. He’s a player that does make a difference to that side going forward.
“I know you’ve got Firmino and Mane but Salah has been the most consistent player for that team.
“There’s no way you can lose a player like that. He’s worth every single penny of that wage that he’ll be given and definitely deserves that new contract.
“When you look at professionalism and players looking after their body, you don’t look any further than Cristiano Ronaldo and Mo Salah.“
