Pundit issues ‘scary’ Alexander Isak claim amid Newcastle United injury update
The prospect of a fully fit Alexander Isak returning for Newcastle United in the second half of the season is “scary” for the rest of the Premier League.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid the latest updates on the striker’s injury.
On 6 December, Craig Hope reported that Isak, 23, will miss Newcastle’s two upcoming friendly games against Al-Hilal and Rayo Vallecano as he continues to recover from his injury.

The striker has travelled to Saudi Arabia for the Magpies’ winter training camp but, as per Hope, has only taken part in light training.
McManus can’t wait to see how good Isak is when he returns to full fitness.
“It’s like a new signing and it’s what Newcastle need,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“If you said Newcastle need to go out and sign a top-class striker in January to help out Wilson, one is already here, we just haven’t seen him yet.
“But what he has been doing while he has been injured, is learning about the club, getting familiar with the tactics, working on himself.
“That’s what injured players do and when Isak gets back to full fitness he is going to be in great shape. He came in and scored a couple of goals after being at the club for two minutes.
“After acclimatising to the club and getting familiar with how Howe wants to play, he is going to be even better when he comes back which is a bit scary for Newcastle’s opponents.”

Isak scored twice in three games for the Magpies before getting injured.
He was signed to aid the injury-prone Callum Wilson, who has scored six times in 11 games this season.
