Pundit salutes 'magnificent' Bowen after Liverpool source update on pursuit

Paul Robinson has lauded West Ham attacker and Liverpool target Jarrod Bowen after his “magnificent” display against Norwich City.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one is adamant the 25-year-old is in line for an England call-up.

Bowen scored a brace on Wednesday night as the Hammers beat Norwich 2-0 at the London Stadium.

A Liverpool source told Football Insider (13 January) that Reds scouts were in attendance last night as they keep close tabs on the ex-Hull star ahead of the summer window.

The Irons winger has three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract in east London.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Bowen’s form, Robinson said: “He’s just been magnificent of late.

“Not just over the past couple of games but all season.

“He is definitely a player who will be turning Gareth Southgate’s head. The only problem Bowen has got when it comes to the international set up is the amount of quality England have in wide areas.

“If he keeps playing the way he is though, Southgate will not be able to ignore him. He’s putting himself in an elite group of players. He just need to keep playing that well every week.

“He was such an astute signing by David Moyes, who has a history of plucking good players out of the Championship. A player that is just getting better and better.”

In other news, a pundit has claimed Liverpool have the ‘next Harvey Elliott’ in their ranks after an ‘immense’ development.
