Rangers 4-1 Dundee: 29-year-old is perfect supplier to Morelos
By James Black
Rangers saw off Dundee 4-1 in the Scottish Premiership with winger Daniel Candeias stealing the show with two assists as Pedro Caixinha’s side ran riot at Ibrox on Saturday.
Starting with an unchanged side from the 3-1 win at Ross County in August, Rangers looked to push forward early however the Light Blues were wasteful in front of goal with Niko Kranjcar, Candeias and Alfredo Morelos all having efforts.
It took the Gers until the 41st minute to open the scoring through Morelos after a fantastic flowing move that ended with 29-year-old Candeias’ delightful backheel finding the Colombian striker, who rifled beyond Scott Bain.
With just over 20 minutes of the second half played, substitute Josh Windass doubled Rangers’ advantage when he bulleted a header beyond Bain from Candeias’ inch-perfect cross.
After the second goal went in, Dundee looked to minimise the damage but the Light Blues’ forwards continued to press their visitors and were rewarded with two goals in as many minutes.

Carlos Pena made it 3-0 in the 83rd minute after some excellent work by Windass down the left.
Leaving his man for dead, Windass pulled the ball back to Pena and the former Chivas midfieder fired home to grab his first goal for the Gers.
Moments later, James Tavernier burst down the right wing and fed the ball to the excellent Morelos who somehow found the back of the net from a near-impossible angle to grab his seventh goal in five games since his move from HJK Helsinki.
The Dens Park side then grabbed a late consolation as Faissal El Bakhtaoui managed to wriggle away from the Gers defence before nestling the ball in the bottom corner, well out of reach of Ibrox ‘keeper Wes Foderingham.
