Rangers agree terms with attacker in two-and-a-half year deal - report

Rangers have agreed terms on a new two-and-a-half year contract for winger Daniel Candeias, according to a report.

The Four Lads Had a Dream twitter account, which is a solid source of Rangers news, reported the news on Wednesday lunchtime.

They claim the 30-year-old attacker has signed a new contract that will keep him at Ibrox until 2020, and called it “more positive news for the club”.

Football Insider verdict:

This is great news for Rangers after a very disappointing weekend. However, despite the loss Murty’s men performed brilliantly in Sunday and there’s a real feeling that he’s growing things at Ibrox. This new deal for Candeias is another great development. The winger has been brilliant this season with six goals in 36 appearances, with 11 assists. He scored against Celtic at Ibrox and showed real passion when he ran to the fans clutching his badge. They’ll be delighted that he’s committed his future to the club and it’s another bright mark for Murty as he aims to land the manager’s job on a permanent basis in the summer. We think he should be given the full backing of the Ibrox board.
