Rangers close in on new manager as PL legend now odds-on for Ibrox job

Rangers fans were not taking Steve Gerrard seriously as a candidate for the Rangers job when bookies slashed his odds from 25/1 to 8/1 on Tuesday.

However, he will be impossible to ignore now after his odds were slashed again on Wednesday, making him the runaway favourite to replace Graeme Murty.

Incredibly, the Liverpool legend is now odds-on for the job, with his odds at a super-short 1/2.

That means the bookies think it’s way more likely to happen than not and means that a huge amount of money has come pouring in for him to land the massive job.

The former favourite Graham Potter has dropped massively to 8/1, meaning as far as the bookies are concerned, there’s only one man for the job.

It would be a stunning turn-up for Rangers – although we’re not sure Celtic fans will like the idea much.
