Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to annihilate Niko Kranjcar for his performance in the 0-0 draw with Celtic at Parkhead on Saturday afternoon.

Kranjcar, 33, was named to start his second game in a row due to the amount of midfield injuries currently plaguing Ibrox, but the Croat did not do much to endear himself to the Gers support.

The experienced ex-Tottenham and Portsmouth midfielder looked well off the pace at times, especially when having to cope with Celtic’s dynamic midfield that was full of energy throughout the Old Firm meeting.

Rangers fans on Twitter were really unimpressed with Kranjcar, with one saying that the midfielder was “utterly pathetic”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Kranjcar has suffered numerous injuries in his year-and-a-half on the books at Ibrox.

The senior player has only been able to make a total of 25 appearances for Rangers, scoring three goals and supplying five assists in the process.

It appears that the 33-year-old has had one too many injuries though now and that has severely impeded his ability to play in the big games like this.

Graeme Murty may be better served in playing the Croat in games where the Light Blues are expected to dominate possession a bit more.

In other Rangers news, Jim White has given an update on the Light Blues’ talks to sign this Premier League forward.
