Rangers fans have absolutely destroyed Josh Windass on Twitter – after the 24-year-old tried to celebrate his season’s achievements despite the Gers only managing to secure a disappointing third-place finish in the Scottish Premiership hours earlier.
The Ibrox star shared a Tweet from a Gers fan site which shows Windass and Colombian Alfredo Morelos have struck 52 goals and assists between them this season – with Windass saying, on his personal Twitter account, that it was a “not a bad” tally for their first season together.
52 goals and assists between me and Alfredo . Not a bad first season Partnership 🏴 🇨🇴 https://t.co/7KZxHbdvJ0

Rangers fans were having absolutely none of that though and tore into the 24-year-old – with one fan saying
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
When do we parade that trophy? Book me a ticket mate I'm there

We’ve had some of the most embarrassing results in memory. You want a pat on the back. You and those like you don’t seem to get it

Im against tweeting players negativity but the seasons over & you need to realise if you want to play for our club you need to pull your socks up & realise the crest on the front of your jersey is more important that the name on the back. Same goes for Alfredo.

We don’t count goal assists at our club
It’s trophies we count !
It’s a shame for you, you never realised that josh.

everything that's wrong with our club at the minute, our players accept failure. Pity yous couldn't turn up in the 'Big Games'. The season has been a failure & if you think otherwise then i'm sorry but the shirt is to heavy for you, an easy life in England might suit you better

We finished 3rd. Won nothing. Absolutely pumped of Celtic. Just go off on holiday and get ready for next season quietly.

Both Morelos and Windass hit the net 18 times with each grabbing eight assists over the course of the season.
Steven Gerrard’s imminent arrival as manager could see both headed for the Ibrox exit door – with reports claiming Cardiff City could be set to splash out £3million on Windass while Morelos was the subject of a number of bids from Chinese Super League side Beijing Renhe earlier in the year.
Windass hit the net in Sunday’s 5-5 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road to draw level with Morelos as the club’s top goalscorer for the season as the Light Blues failed to secure second in the Scottish Premiership for the second consecutive season.
