James Tavernier is expected to sign a new long-term deal with Rangers and fans are absolutely delighted with the news.

EstConsultancy, a Twtter account that’s a source of highly reliable Rangers news broke the information on Monday afternoon.

This was followed by a post from a popular Rangers blog that stated that he would be signing a three-and-a-half year deal until 2021.

That’s still to be ratified by an official source but all indications point to good news for rangers fans imminently.

Rangers fans were totally delighted with the news, and took to Twitter to celebrate, with one fan saying an improved contract was “well deserved”.

Another said it would be like a new signing while another said that it was the best news he had heard all day.

The 27-year-old right-back has been at Rangers since the summer of 2015 when he signed from Wigan and since then he has made 126 appearances, scoring an impressive 23 goals and adding 38 assists.

If the news is true then Rangers can look forward to even more from their right-sided flyer in the years to come.
