Rangers fans were unanimous in wishing him luck at his new club and acknowledged that he always gave his best for the club.
However, some also added that he just wasn’t prolific enough to wear the Rangers shirt in the Premiership and that they hope the money is spent bringing in another striker.
Here is a selection of reaction from Rangers fans to the news:
Waghorn has joined Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee. Good luck Waggy, always gave 100% and loved the Rangers! Once a ger, always a ger!💙

Waghorn gone. Sad to see him leave but wasn't good enough for Rangers. Interested to see who we get in before the window shuts.

If we have £1,000,000 in the bank for Waghorn. I still think we need a penalty box striker. But we'll see what happens. #RFC

How bizarre if Ipswich can make this Waghorn and Garner partnership work. On another note, can we sign another striker now please? #Rangers

Waghorn joined Rangers two years ago from Wigan and has since scored 44 goals in 78 appearances – an impressive return.
That included an incredible 20 goals in 25 appearances in the 2015/16 Championship as Rangers won the title.
However, he only managed seven goals in 32 appearances in the Premiership last season and that’s why fans don’t think he can hack in at the top level.
Now he’ll be hoping to fire Ipswich towards the top of the English Championship, and Rangers fans have wished him good luck.
