Souness would have killed him: Rangers fans tear mainstay to shreds for display v Hamilton

Rangers fans have torn Russell Martin to shreds for an inept performance in the 5-3 win against Hamilton at the SuperSeal Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Martin, 32, was at the heart of a very shaky Light Blues defender as a goals rained down in Hamilton.
The Scottish centre-back was perhaps to blame for David Templeton scoring Accies’ second goal when he failed to clear the ball properly and then played the ex-Rangers attacker onside for him to slot the ball past Wes Foderingham.
Martin was signed in the January transfer window on loan from English Championship club Norwich until the end of the season.
He has instantly become a mainstay of Graeme Murty’s defence in Glasgow, forced Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso further down the pecking order.
The Scotland international has made six appearances in all competitions since signing for the Gers, but has not received anywhere near the level of criticism he had done against Hamilton.
One angry Rangers fans claimed that former manager Graeme Souness would have “killed” Martin for his defending.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

Martin had barely kicked a ball for Norwich this season before he moved to Rangers.
The last time he played league football in England was in the Championship back in August.
