'Absolute donkey', 'Shambles' - Rangers fans tear senior player to shreds for display v Motherwell
Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to tear Russell Martin to shreds for his inept performance in the 2-2 draw with Motherwell at Fir Park on Saturday.
Martin, 32, has been Graeme Murty’s go-to centre-back since he arrived on loan from Norwich in the January transfer window but he did little to help his chances of making his Ibrox deal permanent with a woeful showing against Motherwell.
The 29-times Scotland international gave away a penalty in the ninth minute that was slotted past Wes Foderingham by Curtis Main.
However it was a very soft spot-kick decision and would perhaps be unfair to judge Martin on that alone.
What really got fans angry about the centre-back was his role in Allan Campbell doubling the home side’s lead when he was caught completely out of position and exposed his defensive partner Bruno Alves.
Rangers fans could not hide their rage at the senior player and took to Twitter to share their disgust.

Martin has made 10 appearances in all competitions since signing for Rangers, scoring one goal.
Once David Bates and Ross McCrorie are back to fitness there’s every chance that Murty will axe Martin and Alves if their woeful form continues.
