After blitzing Ayr away, Murty needs to stick with this duo for the foreseeable future

Rangers manager Graeme Murty needs to keep Alfredo Morelos and Jason Cummings playing in the same side after the pair made their first appearance together in the 6-1 win over Ayr United in the Scottish Cup.
Morelos and Cummings have been kept apart since Cummings’ arrival at Ibrox last month but the pair combined to devastating effect against the League One high-flyers.
The pair scored three of the six goals Murty’s side netted with Morelos grabbing a brace either side of Cummings’ strike.
Keeping the duo in the starting XI would mean likely sticking with a four-man midfield but if Rangers can get the pair scoring regularly then they have potentially the best strike force in Scotland.
Despite their lack of game-time together, the pair seemed to have decent chemistry as the game went on and should only continue to gel if they are given a stint in the team for the foreseeable future.
As the Gers look to lift their first major silverware since the Scottish Premiership win in 2011 keeping both in the team – and scoring regularly – could be the difference between success and failure for Murty and his side.
The Light Blues are only three games away from Scottish Cup glory going and will find out their opponents in the quarter-final when the draw is made on Sunday night.
