Rangers star must remember this is team game after display v Motherwell
COMMENT
Rangers fans have been blown away by Alfredo Morelos since the star striker arrived at Ibrox last summer – but the 21-year-old needs to remember sometimes that there’s more than him at Ibrox.
Morelos has been accused in the past of being too greedy and not looking to play in his team-mates who are in better positions and they reared their head again after the 2-2 draw with Motherwell.
With just a few minutes left, Morelos and Jason Cummings were through on goal but the Colombian opted to shoot into the side netting rather than square the ball to Cummings for a tap-in and almost certain match-winner.
Morelos is still young but there are only so many times inexperience can be used as an excuse and the chance in the dying minutes of the Motherwell clash isn’t one of those times.
A late winner for the Gers could have made a huge difference to the Light Blues with an Old Firm clash rapidly approaching but instead, they are now on a three-game run without a win.
There’s little doubt Morelos has all the tools to be a top striker and, like many others, will argue a greedy streak is a good thing to have but the Colombian needs to look beyond his own placing in the goal-scoring charts and take a glance at the league table now and again.
