Steven Gerrard to make sensational Rangers return? ‘Agreed’ verdict

Rangers fans have urged the club to avoid re-appointing Steven Gerrard should they decide to get rid of Philippe Clement.

The Glasgow giants are now nine points behind Aberdeen and Celtic after their latest defeat at Pittodrie on Wednesday (October 30).

Clement, 50, and his side dominated possession, ending the game having had 63 per cent of the ball, but were powerless to resist a clinical Aberdeen side.

Nedim Bajrami canceled out Nicky Devlin’s opener just after the hour mark but winger Shayden Morris was on hand to score in the 74th minute to earn the home side an impressive 2-1 win.

Gerrard, 44, isn’t faring much better in Saudi Arabia, with his Al-Ettifaq side winless in their last five games and many fans calling for the club to sack the former England international.

Since Gerrard left the club for Aston Villa back in 2021, Rangers have fallen further and further behind Old Firm rivals Celtic both on and off the pitch.

Still, many fans are unable to forgive the former midfielder for leaving the club at the very first opportunity and have urged the board to avoid re-appointing him.

I’ve been saying this all day.

He’s got charisma and certainly recruited better in his early years than his successors have but his outcomes are as bad as all the rest.
