This deal going ahead is just one point of the transfer triangle, that could possibly see Olivier Giroud head to Chelsea, and then Michy Batshuayi head to Dortmund to become Aubameyang’s replacement.
Arsenal fans would undoubtedly be thrilled to see this transfer completed, as he would be a fine replacement for the recently departed Alexis Sanchez.
Football Insider verdict:
Should the deal go ahead it will be interesting to see how Aubameyang adapts to the Premier League. This will be the biggest test of his career, after having aced the Bundesliga. Fans will be excited to see the reunion with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, as the pair looked astonishing together when both playing for Dortmund. Should Wenger manage to complete this transfer a lot of weight will come off of his shoulders, having faced a lot of criticism over the transfer debacle of Alexis Sanchez. This transfer could be what is needed to save his career, as well as Arsenal’s season.
In other Arsenal transfer news, this goalkeeper could be on the verge of joining Leeds United.
