In a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, it’s claimed that Leeds are hoping to pull off a deal for Roberts after it had been assumed that there would be no more deals done.
Roberts is out of contract in the summer and it looked like he was set to run his contract out.
However, it is thought he will now be allowed to move on.
Football Insider verdict:
Well this was unexpected. All the noise coming from Leeds was that their January business had been completed, with manager Thomas Christiansen stating that he didn’t think that Leeds would sign anyone else in his pre-match press conference. Leeds fans have been desperate for a striker this January and it looks like they might be rewarded right at the end of the window, with West Brom seemingly open to a move for Roberts. They know it’s either get something for him now or risk losing him for hardly anything in the summer.
In other Leeds United transfer news, it has been reported that the Whites are on the verge of securing this Arsenal keeper.
