This comes after the Sun reported that West Ham had rejected a bid from Newcastle to take the player on loan for the second half of the season.
Football Insider verdict:
This must be getting sickening for Newcastle fans. Every time they’re linked with a player they’re hit with the same news. They don’t have enough money, the club doesn’t want to loan… The question is, how much more of this can Rafa Benitez take? It seems an odd move for Crystal Palace, who have Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha up top, but Sakho will add good depth to their squad. West Ham will be pleased to get the 28-year-old off their books after he’s only scored two goals in 14 appearances this season, and is not part of David Moyes’ future plans.
In other Newcastle United transfer news, the club are looking to secure an imminent deal for an international star.
