This follows on from a Football Insider exclusive that said that West Ham were poised to accept a £16million bid for Ayew.
This claimed that West Ham and Swansea had been locked in talks with a well-placed source telling us that the Hammers were ready to accept the bid.
Ki Sung-yeung has been with Swansea for three years and has made 88 appearances for South Korea, scoring nine goals for his country.
Football Insider verdict:
Swap deals are always difficult to get over the line and there’s not a lot of time left to make this one happen. Football Insider sources said that West Ham were ready to accept the £16million offer so this might just be a bit of last-minute brinksmanship. West Ham do want another midfielder and might see this as one way of getting another player in without having to spend much money. Ki Sung-yeung has made 12 Premier league appearances for Swansea this season but is out of contract in the summer and West Ham obviously think Swansea might throw him into the deal if they want Ayew badly.
In other West Ham transfer news, the club are on the verge of securing a transfer deal for an international attacker.
