Report: Liverpool make offer to Chelsea mainstay, plans to replace Coutinho with two stars
By Aramide Oladipo
Liverpool have made a sensational move to sign Chelsea striker Diego Costa during the summer transfer window, according to a report.
Spanish outlet Don Balon claims that the Merseyside club have presented the 28-year-old with an offer to move to Anfield this summer.
The report claims that the Reds will target the striker should playmaker Philippe Coutinho secure a move to La Liga giants Barcelona as one of two “star” options they are pursuing.
The striker has also reportedly received offers from Italian giants Inter and AC Milan with the latter being the most interested out of all three teams.

The Spain international has enjoyed an impressive three years in West London, helping the Blues secure two Premier League titles in the last three seasons.
Costa has notched up a fantastic tally of 58 goals in 120 appearances for the club.
The striker’s current contract at Stamford Bridge runs out in 2019.

This could potentially turn out to be the biggest transfer story in the Premier League this summer. Having already lost Nemanja Matic to league rivals Manchester United, surely Chelsea would not be willing to sanction a move that sees Costa join Liverpool regardless of his questionable behaviour this summer. It would be a massive coup for the Reds because Costa has proven to be one of the best strikers in the country on his day and he could potentially be the missing link to a Liverpool side which has never won the Premier League title. There is always baggage both on and off the pitch with the striker but if Reds boss Jurgen Klopp feels that he is worth the risk, it will surely benefit the team’s chances of winning silverware this season.
In other Liverpool transfer news, a mouth-watering new bid has been place for star Philippe Coutinho, which the club have responded to immediately.
