Mark Allen has simple decision to make on Rangers player after reported major development

Rangers could be set to land a record fee for Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos, according to a club insider, and it is the kind of money that the Gers really can’t afford to be turning down.
Gers fans blog Four Lads Had a Dream claimed in a major Twitter development on Friday afternoon that the 21-year-old striker is on the verge of a club record transfer.

If the report is true and £11million heads Rangers’ way for a player they paid £1million for in June then the Gers board – and director of football Mark Allen – need to simply decide to accept it and look at how that can be used to make the Light Blues a far better side than they are currently.
Given the Gers’ financial situation, there’s no way the full £11million would go straight back into the playing squad but if Allen and Graeme Murty – or whoever takes the reins in the summer – are handed even half of that on top of what is already budgeted for, it could see the Light Blues close the gap to Old Firm rivals Celtic.
The record fee the Gers have received is £9million for Alan Hutton from Tottenham Hotspur and, with the added possibility of a sell-on clause being inserted in any deal for Morelos, the Gers could stand to benefit even further down the line.
Nobody ever wants to lose their top goalscorer midway through a season – never mind one who is far from the finished article and can still get much better – but as Neymar’s move to PSG showed, every footballer has a price and in Morelos’ case, it is getting very close to being met.
In other Rangers news, a stunning £50,000-a-week deal is on offer to a Light Blues first teamer in game-changing development.
