Sources: Club 'confident' of signing Spurs player valued at £50m by Levy after CL final

Napoli are confident of signing Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier after the Champions League final next week, Football Insider understands.

The Serie A giants are hot on the heels of the England right-back and have already had an offer for him rejected by the north Londoners,

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that Pochettino has given the go-ahead for Trippier to be sold as long as the club can secure a top-quality replacement, with Crystal Palace rising star Aaron Wan-Bissaka among those targeted as a possible replacement.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has slapped a £50million price tag on Trippier, 28, who has a contract that runs until 2022 and extensive international, Premier League and Champions League experience.

Reports in Spain have stated that Atletico Madrid have joined Napoli and Manchester United in the race to land Trippier in this window.

However, the Serie A club are in pole position for the wide defender’s signature and the source said they are “confident” of convincing Tottenham and the player to agree terms.
