Ruben Amorim wants to throttle Marcus Rashford after Man United ace excluded
Man United coach Ruben Amorim won’t be at all pleased with Marcus Rashford’s “preposterous”, “ridiculous”, and “awful behaviour”, according to Simon Jordan.
The Red Devils face Tottenham tonight (19 December) following their dramatic comeback victory over Manchester City in the derby, and the England international has not travelled with the squad.
Amorim made the controversial decision to leave both Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of the squad entirely. This move came amid reports that the club is under pressure to sell the 27-year-old in order to support their new coach.
While some reports suggest the decision was linked to Rashford’s lifestyle choices [The Telegraph], Amorim has confirmed this was not the case.
However, Simon Jordan shared his thoughts on talkSPORT, explaining that Rashford’s behaviour in giving an interview to journalist Henry Winter and saying he wants a “new challenge” will frustrate Amorim.
He said: “I think Amorim is managing this minefield on what to say.
“I would suspect what he wants to do is get his hands around his throat and say, ‘What are you thinking? Why would you behave this way? This is a conversation between you and I. This is not a conversation for the media.’
“Why would you give some journalist an insight into the relationship you have with the club?
“I think it’s preposterous, I think it’s ridiculous, and I think it’s awful behaviour from Rashford”.

Football Insider opinion
The forward has been in the headlines this season for all the wrong reasons. He is a player with the calibre to score 30 goals in a season and has often devastated from the left wing.
Despite scoring two goals in under three starts under the new coach, he is set to face further disciplinary action from the club.

It feels as though they are forcing him out, which is sometimes necessary when a player on big money refuses to leave. However, a little more loyalty could have been shown, given he has been at the club since his early days.
Some argue that his criticism isn’t entirely justified, pointing out that English teammates Phil Foden and Jack Grealish have also been performing poorly but haven’t been under the same level of scrutiny.
It’s understandable why Simon Jordan, a former club owner, is frustrated by his actions. This kind of situation is likely to frustrate any owner, as a player like Rashford could linger in the background while earning around £300,000 a week without contributing [BBC Sport].
He is not involved in the quarter-final match against Spurs either, which could suggest that both the manager and the hierarchy are content to leave him out indefinitely.
The forward has expressed a desire for a “new challenge”. Perhaps a change of atmosphere is what he needs, as confidence is often an underrated attribute in a footballer.
