Davies 'shaking up' Sheffield United dressing room as 'outstanding' news confirmed - Kenny

Ben Davies is an “outstanding signing” for Sheffield United and will provide a much-needed “shake up” in the dressing room.

So says Blades icon Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Davies’ loan switch from Liverpool was confirmed on 16 August.

This site first revealed back in July that United had made an enquiry for the 26-year-old centre-back.

Davies joined Liverpool from Preston North End in January but has so far failed to make an appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

United were thumped 4-0 by West Brom last night (18 August) and are winless under new boss Slavisa Jokanovic in the Championship.

And Kenny insists that Davies is exactly the sort of character who can help turn things around.

“I think he’s a great signing,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“He was doing really well at Preston before he signed for Liverpool. Sadly, he didn’t get his chance there.

“I think after watching Sheffield United last night, they need someone who is dominant in the air.

“I think he’ll be an outstanding signing for them. He has definitely got a point to prove after what’s gone on at Liverpool.

“They couldn’t deal with throw-ins and set-pieces last night. Having watched them last night, I didn’t see anyone doing that.

“They need someone who is going to go in and shake up that dressing room, grab hold of people and tell them to do their job.
