Paddy Kenny 'concerned' by behind-the-scenes issue at Sheffield United
The lack of transfer activity at Sheffield United so far this summer is cause for concern.
So says ex-Blades shot-stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider with United yet to make their first addition of the window.
Jack Rodwell, Phil Jagielka, Simon Moore, John Lundstram and Kean Bryan have all left the club on free transfers since the end of 2021-22.
This site revealed on 23rd July that United have made an enquiry for 25-year-old Liverpool defender Ben Davies.
But the Blades’ season opener against Norwich is now just nine days away and new boss Slavisa Jokanovic is yet to get any signings over the line.
Kenny observed that United’s lack of progress in the transfer market can be attributed to financial issues behind the scenes.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “I’m a bit concerned. You like to get your squad together before the season starts.
“But these times are strange and I don’t think a lot of teams have been very active.
“A lot of teams have things that need to change but everyone is taking their time.
“With the financial problems behind the scenes and Covid over the last 18 months, it is difficult.
“Normally you’d want to know what you’ve got to play with in pre-season but it’s not looking like that at the moment.
“I’m sure there will be comings and going once the season has already started now as well. That squad will need refreshing.”
