Paddy Kenny blasts Bryan amid Sheffield United stand-off
Kean Bryan has not conducted himself well in his contract stand-off with Sheffield United – but he won’t be a big miss for the club.
That is according to Bramall Lane legend Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the defender’s contract situation.
The Star reported on 24th July that United have effectively withdrawn their offer of a new deal to the 24-year-old after learning he is exploring a move to Middlesbrough.
It was Football Insider that revealed earlier that day that Boro had registered their interest in signing Bryan.
He is a free agent following the expiry of his previous United deal in May.
Kenny asserts that Bryan should not have kept the Blades waiting for his decision but that his departure will not come as a huge blow.

“I think he could have conducted himself a bit better,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“We’re all men and sometimes you’ve got to stand up, hold your hands up and say: ‘Listen, I don’t want to stay’.
“He’s on a free transfer and if Sheffield United are willing to withdraw it that easily then they clearly aren’t that bothered either.
“It shows they aren’t going to be pushed into a corner by anyone demanding ridiculous money or a longer contract or anything like that.“
Bryan signed for United in 2019 and has featured 19 times for the club in total.
Of those appearances, 13 were in last season’s Premier League campaign amid a defensive injury crisis at Bramall Lane
