You can always rely on Sam Allardyce for an entertaining press conference and he didn’t disappoint today.
In what can only be seen as top trolling from the Everton manager, he refused to take any criticism on the chin, claimed the only doubters were a small minority on social media, and said that when he arrived at the club they were below West Brom.
The inference is that he thinks he’s doing a great job, the fans are behind him, and without him they could be facing relegation.
If he’s not trolling then he’s living in a different world.
His comments were picked up by the Liverpool Echo who posted them on its official Twitter page on Friday afternoon.
Sam's very prickly about social media!
To paraphrase. Only a small minority of Everton fans are doubters. Those doubters inhabit Twitter and Facebook. And professional journalists listen far too much to that small echo chamber.https://t.co/r8ozdD1Bxt

As you can imagine, his latest comments have gone down a treat on Twitter, although Allardyce would use that as more evidence of the echo chamber.
Here are the best reactions from dumbfounded Everton fans:
The sooner Sam Allardyce is gone the better. His comments in pre match press conferences are shocking. He’s compared us to West Ham and Newcastle, now he’s congratulating himself for finishing above West Brom. This kind of comments may be acceptable his old clubs, but not here.

I've just gritted my teeth the way through Sam Allardyce's press conference.
The sooner June comes the better.

We've got the 40 points that match Kenwight's ambition so get rid now and put Rhino back in charge until the end of the season.

Delusional is the word we're looking for here, 40 odd thousand evertonians inside goodison may have a slight difference of opinion on that sam
