Sky Sports: Emphatic decision made on Rangers bid for dazzling forward

Rangers are set to be let down after making a bid for Kilmarnock forward Jordan Jones, according to a report.
Sky Sports Scotland claimed on their official Twitter account that Killie have emphatically decided that they will turn down an offer worth £500,000 for Jones, 23, from Ibrox.

STV journalist Raman Bhardwaj reported on his personal Twitter account earlier on Monday that Rangers’ offer is worth £350,000 up front, but with add-ons will rise up to £500,000.
However it is now understood that Kilmarnock are not happy with the offer made by the Gers, who may now need to stump up more funds in order to sign the Northern Ireland international.
Jones has has been in top form at Rugby Park this season, making 25 appearances in all competitions and scoring three goals in the process.
The wide-forward, who can play on the left or up front, even netted against Celtic in October when Steve Clarke masterminded a shock 1-1 draw at Parkhead.
The dazzling attacker who is known for his pace and dribbling began his career at Middlesbrough but moved north of the border in 2016 when he was released.
Football Insider verdict
It is no surprise to see Kilmarnock turn down this offer. Jones is a key player at Rugby Park and there is no way that Clarke would let the attacker leave for lower than his valuation. The Light Blues may have to break seven-figures in order to get the ex-Middlesbrough ace, but it seems unlikely that the Glasgow club will be able to sanction a deal like that unless players leave. Graeme Murty and Mark Allen have not be afraid to strengthen the side with domestic talent this month. Carlos Pena has already left, so letting a few more of Pedro Caixinha’s flops could fee up some funds to go and meet Killie’s asking price for Jones.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are also ready to lodge a formal bid for this top-flight playmaker.
