'Just a show' - Sky Sports pundit makes huge claim behind the scenes at Rangers

Sky Sports pundit Kris Commons believes that the show of togetherness by Rangers players during Daniel Candeias’ celebration in the 2-1 win over Hearts was “just a show” and does not think it reflects the feeling in the dressing room.

After the Portuguese winger headed home the Gers’ second goal he made a beeline for the Light Blues’ dugout to celebrate with his team-mates – like he did when Pedro Caixinha was under pressure – following a tumultuous week at Ibrox.

Commons does not believe that “everyone is in it together” at Ibrox after seeing Alfredo Morelos leave the stadium after the game “clearly not happy.”

“As all the substitutes and players who weren’t involved in the game were knocking their pans in on the pitch at full-time, Alfredo Morelos appeared suited and booted on the side of the pitch with his head down and went straight out of the park, clearly not happy,” Commons said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“That just doesn’t look good and it begs the question — how much of the togetherness shown by the other players was genuine? Was it just a show for the public?

“It’s all right saying you’ve had a tough week and that everyone is in it together. But is that really the case? It didn’t look so.”

Goals from Candeias and Jason Cummings sealed the three points for the Light Blues and took them back into second in the Scottish Premiership on goal difference ahead of Aberdeen.

The Light Blues travel across Glasgow this weekend to face bitter rivals Celtic in a potential title-winning clash for the Hoops.

Football Insider verdict:

Alfredo Morelos didn’t look happy throughout the game but it isn’t necessarily indicative of how the rest of the squad feel. Many of the players have given the impression they genuinely enjoy playing for the Ibrox giants. There would be more concern if Morelos was smiling and skipping out of Ibrox after the last week. The proof will be in the pudding when they face Celtic on Sunday. If there is unrest in the whole squad it will almost certainly bubble to the surface in th white-hot atmosphere.
