Bilic makes huge claim about Tottenham, shares why they have been so good this season

By Matt Bullin

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has claimed the reason Tottenham have been so successful this season is because of the balance in their side.

The Croat also made the huge claim that the second-placed team in the league have played better football than any other side this season, including leaders Chelsea.

Spurs travel to face Bilic’s Hammers at the London Stadium on Friday night hoping to cut Chelsea’s lead at the top of the Premier League to just one point.

While West Ham are on a decent run of their own and will look to stretch their unbeaten run to five games, as well as exacting payback on Spurs for their late defeat earlier in the season.

Adrian has already demanded “revenge” on Spurs for the loss, which saw the Hammers lead 2-1 at White Hart Lane until the 89th minute, when Harry Kane bagged a late brace to steal all three points.

But Bilic has praised this sides’ next opponents in his column in the Evening Standard.

He wrote: “So what else has made Spurs so good this season? Answer: balance.

“Attacking players such as Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen inevitably take the eye but just as important are their full-backs — the way they operate is crucial to the team’s success this season.

“For me this season, Spurs have played the best football in the Premier League. I enjoy watching the way they play.”

Bilic also recalls his West Ham debut, which he made at White Hart Lane against Spurs in 1996, and ended in a 1-0 win for his side.

Spurs are still in contention to win the league this term, while West Ham are just trying to finish as high as they can, currently sitting in 15th.

In other Tottenham news, Pochettino has claimed he has moulded a new type of player in this 23-year-old.
