Sources: Aberdeen respond to latest Blackburn bid for Hedges
Aberdeen have rejected a bid from Blackburn Rovers for attacker Ryan Hedges, Football Insider understands.
Blackburn have been tracking Welshman Hedges all summer and they have firmed up their interest with a bid.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Aberdeen have turned Blackburn’s offer of £250,000 for Hedges as they look to try and keep him at Pittodrie.
The 26-year-old is in the final year of his contract with the Scottish Premiership outfit.
Blackburn Rovers are hopeful his contract situation might tempt the Dons into cashing-in on the player rather than risk allowing him to run down his contract and leave for free next summer.
Blackburn are in the market for attacking reinforcements before the close of the transfer window as they look to fill the void left by Adam Armstrong’s move to Southampton.
Rovers boss Tony Mowbray is actively looking to add to his squad before Tuesday’s transfer deadline and has already agreed a deal for Lincoln defender Tayo Edun.
Hedges has scored 15 times and provided 13 assists in 70 games across all competitions for Aberdeen since his arrival from Barnsley in the summer of 2019.
That includes six goals and two assists in European competitions for the Dons.

This site first revealed on 4 August both Rovers and Middlesborough were chasing the three-cap international.
With his contract expiring next summer, he could negotiate a pre-contract move with clubs outside of Scotland in January.
In other news, Spurs expect to sell a 28-year-old by tomorrow night as a medical is scheduled.
