Sources: Coventry City make move to sign Derby County star Max Bird
Coventry City are lining up a move for Derby County midfielder Max Bird, sources have told Football Insider.
Derby are facing a fight to keep hold of Bird as well as a number of other stars following their relegation from the Championship to League One.
Coventry, who are also keen on Bird’s team-mate Louie Sibley, have registered their interest in signing Bird this summer.

A recruitment source told Football Insider last week (5 July) that the Sky Blues were lining up a move for Sibley who is attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs.
Sibley, 20, and Bird, 21, both came through the Derby academy at a similar time.
Bird made his senior debut in September 2017 and he has now played over 112 times for the Rams, including 100 appearances in the Championship.
Derby have already lost a number of young players in the last 12 months due to their financial situation.
Lee Buchanan, Festy Ebosele and Malcolm Ebiowei have all left the club this summer.
The Rams have since been taken over by local property developer David Clowes and Liam Rosenior has been busy rebuilding his squad.
They have already added experienced played Conor Hourihane, James Chester, Tom Bharkuizen, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and David McGoldrick.

Coventry City finished 12th in the Championship in 2021-22, just 11 points off the play-off positions.
Mark Robins has already added Kasey Palmer to his squad while youngsters Tom Costello and Dermi Lusala have also signed.
In other news, Coventry City have responded to a Burnley bid for a 24-year-old.
