Sources: Emerson undergoing Tottenham medical in Spain after agreeing five-year deal
Emerson Royal is undergoing a medical in Spain today ahead of sealing his move to Tottenham from Barcelona, Football Insider understands.
Spurs agreed a £25.7million deal with Barcelona on Monday for the 22-year-old and the move is set to be finalised before tonight’s transfer deadline.
A Spurs source has told Football Insider that Emerson is set to sign a five-year deal once he completes his medical.

His contract with Barcelona was due to run until the summer of 2024.
The Brazil international is set to become the latest player to leave the La Liga giants amid their financial problems.
Royal has featured in all three of Ronald Koeman’s side’s league games this season and started the 2-1 win over Getafe on Sunday.
Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty’s struggles at Spurs have led Fabio Paratici to enter the transfer market for a new right-back.
Nuno Espirito Santo is unconvinced by the pair and has played the younger Japhet Tanganga ahead of them this season.
As revealed by Football Insider yesterday (August 30th), Spurs want to offload Aurier before tonight’s deadline with Royal’s arrival imminent.

Aurier has just one year left on his contract in north London and the club want to cash in now rather than lose him on a free in 12 months time.
Royal is set to become Tottenham’s fifth signing of the window following deals for Bryan Gil, Cristian Romero, Pape Sarr and Pierluigi Gollini.
