Sources: Joseph to sign four-year Swansea City contract after medical
Kyle Joseph has agreed a four-year contract as he puts finishing touches to his Swansea City move, Football Insider understands.
The teenage striker started a medical at the Welsh club yesterday.
A Swansea source has told Football Insider Joseph and the club are in the final stages of agreeing a deal.
Earlier today (11th June) this site revealed Joseph has undergone his medical ahead of a move from Wigan Athletic.
This site broke the news yesterday (10th June) that the striker, 19, had agreed to join the Welsh side ahead of a number of elite Premier League and Scottish clubs.
Joseph‘s Wigan deal expires next month but the Swans will pay a compensation fee of close to £1million.
Tottenham, Newcastle, Celtic and Rangers have all been credited with interest in Joseph.
It is understood the striker has chosen Swansea after hearing their plans for his development.
The London-born youngster joined Wigan aged 13 and signed his first professional contract in 2019.
Joseph has also been capped by Scotland at Under-18 and Under-19 level.
Swansea lost the 2020/21 Championship playoff final to Brentford after dispatching Barnsley in the semi final.
The club has confirmed star striker Andre Ayew will leave the club upon the expiry of his contract, leaving the Swans looking for more cover upfront.
Joseph missed a sizable chunk of last season with a back injury after breaking into the first team in October.
After making his professional debut he scored five goals from just 14 League One appearances.
