Sources: Liverpool keen on Ibrahim Sangare as £45m price revealed

Liverpool are keen on a summer move for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the 25-year-old is well and truly on the radar of the Merseysiders as they plot an overhaul of their midfield.

Sangare was a target for Liverpool and West Ham last summer (2022), but a move failed to materialise.

The Ivory Coast international signed a new contract at PSV in August 2022, keeping him at the club until June 2027.

However, it is believed that the Dutch giants could be open to selling the midfielder for a fee of around £45million this summer.

Sangare has been a mainstay for Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side this season, notching seven goals and three assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.

He has also racked up 24 caps for Ivory Coast since making his senior debut in 2015.

Liverpool are laying the groundwork for multiple midfield signings as they prepare for the likes of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to depart this summer.

Juventus’ Arthur Melo is also expected to return from his Anfield loan move after making just one first-team appearance in the 2022-23 campaign.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (3 April) that Liverpool joined the likes of Man City and Man United in the race for Southampton midfield starlet Romeo Lavia.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s side will not pursue a free transfer move for Leicester’s Youri Tielemans as they believe he is not mobile enough for the team’s requirements.

The Reds are racing rivals Man United, Tottenham and Newcastle for a top-four berth this season.
