Sources: Man United three-man shopping list revealed

Man United remain determined to land a marquee striker signing this summer despite links with Brighton sensation Evan Ferguson, sources have told Football Insider.

This site revealed on Monday (27 March) that United face competition from the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea to land the 18-year-old after his stellar breakthrough campaign.

It is believed that Ferguson is seen as a potential project signing – with Man United chiefs still very much in the market for a top-class number nine this summer.

Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Benfica star Goncalo Ramos are believed to be on the Red Devils’ shortlist ahead of the summer window.

Sources with knowledge of the situation have revealed that the club want a forward capable of scoring 20-25 goals in his first season to aid a tilt at the Premier League title in the 2023-24 season.

Kane, who has scored 204 Premier League goals in 310 games, has been linked with a £100million exit from Tottenham as the final year of his contract approaches.

Napoli star Osimhen has netted 21 Serie A goals in 23 outings this season and is valued at around £100million amid interest from free-spending Chelsea.

Benfica’s Ramos has managed 16 goals in 21 league appearances this term and impressed for Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar.

Man United’s current striker options are Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial – following Cristiano Ronaldo’s bombshell departure last year.

Tottenham

Football Insider revealed last month (21 February) that the Red Devils are unlikely to complete the permanent signing of on-loan Burnley striker Weghorst this summer.

United sit third in the Premier League and look set to play Champions League football once again next term.
