Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko is a reported target for Real Madrid and AC Milan – and Newcastle fans are gobsmacked by the news.

Spanish news outlet Don Balon claimed on Wednesday that the European giants were looking to bring in the 27-year-old attacker, while Barcelona had also been offered the Frenchman.

Unsurprisingly, fans from the North East were shocked at what they were hearing about their former player.

Sissoko made a £30million switch to White Hart Lane last summer after the club’s relegation to the Championship.

But since his move to the capital, Sissoko has struggled for form and consistency throughout the season.

It is quite remarkable that Sissoko could be targeted by three of Europe’s biggest club, particularly Madrid and Barca.

Sissoko has failed to score a goal this season and those two La Liga giants would normally target attacking players that have scored over 30 goals in the season.

Therefore, a player that has failed to find the back of the net this term presumably making a switch to either of those clubs does make it mind-boggling.

One supporter reacted to the Chronicle’s headline referring to that report from Don Balon, where they stated that three of Europe’s club are interested in Sissoko.

That fan jokingly stated that those three clubs are Championship trio Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Leeds.

There were many sarcastic comments made by the Toon Army faithful with one fan thinking that Sissoko’s agent is a better player than his client.

Another fan believes that someone in Barcelona is interested in Sissoko but it is not a football team as fans stated that they have heard it all now.

Overall, fans were surprised at the news as they clearly believe the reports coming out from Spain are false.

In other Newcastle news, Leeds are strong favourites to sign 28-year-old as the Magpies are also in the running.
