Noel Whelan claims Celtic have no plans to sign any of their current loan players this summer after Sunday’s loss to Rangers.
The former Leeds United and Aberdeen striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the future of the club’s loanees are ‘up in the air’.
Kenny hasn’t missed a minute of football in any competition since he joined the club at the end of January.
Laxalt has fallen out of favour in recent weeks while Duffy hasn’t played since February.
Whelan claims the new Celtic manager may not want to re-sign any of the trio after Celtic’s disappointing season.
“All the loan players will go back to their clubs,” Whelan told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.
“Whoever comes in as manager will make that decision. None of the managers coming into Celtic will have seen their performances.
“It might be a case of a new boss not being interested in bringing them back after the season they’ve had.
“Also after an Old Firm where they got absolutely taken to the cleaners. I think their careers are up in the air.
“A new manager won’t come in and go ‘yes, I want him’. It’s going to be a decision for the technical director.”
Laxalt had a torrid afternoon when he lined up against Rangers in the 2-0 Scottish Cup loss and he hasn’t played since.
The Hoops have two games left this season and currently sit 23 points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table.
