Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi is attracting interest from three top-flight European sides this summer, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claims that French outfit Nice and Italian side Fiorentina are keen on signing the 23-year-old, but Ligue 1 side Marseille are the ones poised to make the first move.
This follows up from the story from French radio stadium RMC which claimed Ligue 1 side Marseille are set to make an imminent loan bid for the defender.
The Frenchman almost left Villa Park on a permanent basis to Spanish side Sevilla earlier on this summer but the deal did not go ahead after he reportedly failed to pass his medical.
The defender has spent two years plying his trade with Villa and he has proven to be an important part of the first-team, making a total of 48 appearances for the club and contributing with four assists in the process.
Amavi currently has three years remaining on his contract with the Championship side.
Football Insider verdict
Aston Villa should seriously consider keeping Amavi at the club especially with the number of top clubs interested in signing him. Sevilla, who will be competing in the Champions League next season, almost signed him and now top sides such as Fiorentina and Marseille are involved in the race to secure his signature. The Frenchman started the majority of games in the Championship last season and he could easily contribute in the upcoming campaign and help Villa to mount a serious push on the promotion places. With so many clubs interested in the youngster, it might be beneficial to keep hold of him and see where he features leading up to the January transfer window.
