Newcastle supporters have expressed their relief and excitement on social media after the club confirmed the signing of Spanish striker Joselu on Wednesday morning.

The Tyneside club announced on their official Twitter account that the 27-year-old has completed his move from Premier League Stoke City and he has signed a three-year deal at St James’ Park.

Powerhouse forward Joselu is the sixth player to join the club and he is the only natural striker who has completed a deal this summer following the arrival of attacking midfielders Jacob Murphy and Christian Atsu alongside defensive options Javier Manquillo, Florian Lejeune and Mikel Merino.

After the club had announced the news, the Newcastle supporters took to social media to express their thoughts and the majority of fans appeared to be pleased that their club had finally made another signing this summer.

The striker has already experienced Premier League football following his two-year spell with Stoke.

Joselu will be hopeful that he can enjoy a better run in the first-team with his new club as he only managed to make a total of 27 appearances for Mark Hughes’ side.

The Spaniard could potentially make his debut for the Magpies this weekend as they travel to fellow newly-promoted side Huddersfield Town.
