Tony Xia posts Twitter message celebrating with Grealish after Aston Villa win

By Amir Mir

Tony Xia has posted a Twitter message celebrating with Jack Grealish after he scored a stunning late winner for Aston Villa against Wigan on Saturday afternoon.

The 21-year-old curled in a shot from outside the box in the 88th minute, with the game looking to end in a stalemate after a lacklustre display from the home side.

Grealish produced a moment of magic to secure a dramatic three points for Steve Bruce’s side, who are now only four points off the final play-off spot.

Chinese businessman Xia was in attendance at Villa Park and he posted this message on his personal Twitter account after the game.

Bruce’s side are the only team in the second-tier to remain unbeaten on home soil this term, after they recorded a fourth win on the bounce under the promotion expert.

Former Hull City boss Bruce has won five out of his nine games since taking over the Midlands club in mid-October.

As a result Villa are 13th in the Championship table on 28 points from 20 games and they are four points off Leeds, who occupy the final play-off spot.

Xia will be hoping Villa can continue their climb up the table as they bid to earn a top six spot come the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Their next challenge is a trip to Carrow Road to take on Norwich on Tuesday night. Alex Neil’s side are two points ahead of Villa in the table, but Bruce’s men can leapfrog their rivals with a win.
