Tony Xia has stated that Aston Villa will continue doing their jobs after Stan Collymore hinted at a late promotion charge for the club.
Steve Bruce’s side recorded a 2-0 win at home to Norwich on Saturday afternoon, thanks to a brace from Jonathan Kodjia.
That result leaves Villa ten points behind sixth-placed Fulham who leapfrogged Sheffield Wednesday with a win at Rotherham.
Nonetheless, after Villa’s win, Collymore suggested that the fans will be looking at the table to see how far they are behind the top six.
Owner Xia then issued this response to the former Premier League striker, urging the club to continue focusing on their own jobs.
“No maths, Stan,” Xia wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Just continue doing our own things.”

At this moment in time, Villa are 11th in the table on 54 points from their 39 matches, ten points behind Fulham who occupy the final play-off spot.
Bruce’s side have won five out of their last six matches, losing only to third-placed Huddersfield away from home.
The games are set to come thick and fast for the Midlands club, with London outfit QPR visiting Villa Park on Tuesday night.
Thereafter, Villa will travel to Championship minnows Burton Albion who are fighting a relegation battle.
In other Aston Villa news, fans expressed their worry for this 24-year-old following the win against Norwich.
