Pundit slams 'disaster from Levy' at Tottenham after Twitter reveal
Something “massive” must have gone wrong behind the scenes for Harry Kane to skip training at Tottenham.
So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest chapter in the Kane transfer saga.
Sky Sports reporter Paul Gilmour tweeted on 2nd August that the wantaway 28-year-old had been a no-show for training that morning.
The England skipper has since released a statement via Twitter claiming that he “never refused to train” and that he was “hurt” by the accusations.
Kenny claimed that the striker would not fail to report for duty unless there had been a “disaster” behind the scenes.
“For me, Kane comes across as a top pro,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“He’s England captain and I wouldn’t imagine he’d do anything like this without there being a reason.
“If he has had this gentleman’s agreement and Levy’s gone back on it, I can see why he’s done it. In this day and age, you can’t trust people at all.
“If he’s done that and gone back on his word, it’s a disaster from Levy.
“But there’s definitely something massive that’s gone on behind the scenes because he doesn’t seem like the kind of player who’d do something like that.
“He’s a really good pro and he’s the last person you’d expect to see in that position.“
Football Insider first broke news back in April that Kane was desperate to leave Spurs this summer.
The Man City target has three years remaining on his deal in North London.
