Hazard reacts hilariously to tough Tottenham Champions League draw

By Harry Sykes

Former Tottenham player Micky Hazard had a hilarious and excited response to Tottenham’s incredibly difficult Champions League draw.

The draw for the group stage of the elite European competition was made on Thursday afternoon in Monaco.

And when all the balls had been picked, Tottenham were looking at what could be one of the toughest groups of them all.

The will have to get past Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and APOEL if they want to progress further than they did last year.

Spurs fans would be forgiven for greeting the draw with their head in their hands, but not Hazard.

He took to Twitter and was breathless with excitement, exclaiming “What a fantastic draw”, before shouting, “WOW, so excited it’s untrue, let’s do this, COME ONNNNNN.”

He followed that up by saying, “Wow, Wembley will be lit up… What a draw.”

And then topped these two tweets with a hilarious response which simply read, “Modric and Bale back at Spurs and no fee lol.”

The first fixtures of the group stage take place on 12-13 of September, and for extra atmosphere and sense of occasion, Spurs’ home ties will be played at Wembley.

You play in the Champions League to test yourself against the best in Europe and that’s exactly what Tottenham will have to do if they want a shot at lifting the trophy.

We’re sure that there are lots of Spurs fans that, once over the shock, will be as excited as Micky Hazard tonight.
