Tottenham: ‘Charlatan’ chief Vinai Venkatesham hounded by fans as ‘sickening’ footage emerges from North London

Tottenham Hotspur fans have blasted chief executive Vinai Venkatesham after new footage emerged from Sunday’s defeat to Nottingham Forest.

The Lilywhites were smashed 3-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awonyi on the score sheet.

The result has plunged Tottenham into further trouble in the Premier League, with just one point now standing between Igor Tudor’s team and the drop.

With difficult fixtures approaching after the international break, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has become an incredibly tense place.

And it has not been assisted by Tottenham’s terrible form in North London, where they have won just two of 16 Premier League games.

Vinai Venkatesham slammed by Tottenham fans

Former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider last week that Tottenham were well run before Venkatesham.

The Lilywhites appointed the former Arsenal chief commercial officer in April 2025, with his power growing after Daniel Levy’s exit in September.

The months since have seen Tottenham suffer a dramatic fall from grace, with relegation now a very real possibility.

Venkatesham now strikes an incredibly unpopular figure in North London, and he was made aware of it at the final whistle on Sunday.

Tottenham fans situated near the director’s box shouted words such as “fraud” and “disgrace” towards the executive, in new footage that was posted by WeAreTottenhamTV on X on Sunday night.

What rubbed many fans the wrong way about the video, however, was that several unidentified figures behind Venkatesham can be seen smirking.

It is unclear whether they belong to Nottingham Forest or Tottenham, but fans were keen to express their anger on social media nonetheless.

“The amount of grinning and smug smiles from what are presumably all board members is sickening,” one fan wrote.

Another was critical of Venkatesham, and wrote: “Honestly the bloke’s a charlatan, he’s conned his way around.”

Other fans suggested further action the board, and one wrote: “Everton made it so bad that the owners couldn’t physically turn up to games anymore. That’s where we need to be at as a fanbase.”

Tottenham risk financial ruin

It is not easy to understate how difficult a position Tottenham find themselves in as we approach the closing weeks of the season.

Tudor’s side are in for a difficult run of fixtures, with a continuation of their current form set to prove fatal.

Relegation would mean financial ruin for Tottenham, and it would likely see a massive reduction in their attendance, too.

Should fans really want their voices to be heard, the pockets of those sitting in the board seats at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are where to strike first.
