Pundit predicts Kane could now stay at Tottenham after 'massive' Son reveal

Harry Kane may be convinced to remain at Tottenham after teammate Son-Heung Min told Nuno Espirito Santo he will stay this summer.

That is according to ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively after Football Insider revealed the talks on 2nd July.

A Spurs source told this site that Son has indicated to the newly-appointed Portuguese boss that he is looking forward to playing for him in 2021-22.

The 28-year-old is out of contract in 2023 and has attracted interest from elite clubs alongside Kane, whose own deal expires in 2024.

The England skipper told friends that he wants to leave Tottenham this summer, as revealed by this site in April.

But Kenny claimed that Son‘s renewed commitment to the North London club could tempt Kane into a change of heart.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “I thought he might have moved on if he knew Kane was going, to be honest.

“But we all know Son is a massive part of that team and I’m sure they will be delighted to see him stay on because he’s some player.

“Where they would have been over the past few years without him, who knows.

“You never know, things like that could convince Harry Kane to stay. This might be a move in the right direction for them.”

Kane scored 33 times and assisted another 17 in 49 matches last season.

Son meanwhile netted 22 times and registered 17 assists in 51 appearances across the same period.
