Tottenham: Dominic Solanke branded ‘disgraceful’ by fans after his display vs Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur should look at selling striker Dominic Solanke regardless of whether the club stays in the Premier League.

Solanke has had an injury-hit season in north London, and the striker failed to make an impact during a 1-1 draw at Liverpool.

It was his strike partner Richarlison who found the crucial equaliser in the 90th minute for Spurs to give them a much-needed point at Anfield.

Spurs’ Premier League survival hopes remain in the balance, but Igor Tudor’s side remain a point above the relegation zone with eight matches left to play.

Tottenham fans ‘don’t want to see Dominic Solanke again’ after Liverpool performance

Since Solanke’s £65million move to Spurs in 2024, the club’s fanbase have been split on whether the striker is the man to lead them going forward.

The 28-year-old has scored six goals in all competitions since returning from a long-term injury in January, but Solanke failed to have a shot on goal against Liverpool.

Solanke only had one touch in the opposition box, 30 touches of the ball, and he won just three of his seven aerial duels throughout the 90 minutes.

Whilst Richarlison drew praise from the Spurs support, one fan said that playing with Solanke was “like playing with 10 men.”

One supporter claimed Solanke “has to be sold” and he’s the “worst big money signing this club has ever had.”

Man City targeting Tottenham star

Sources have told Football Insider that Man City could look to re-sign Pedro Porro in the summer transfer window if Spurs are relegated to the Championship.

Porro was a Man City player for three seasons between 2019 and 2020, but the full-back never played a competitive first team match under Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola is looking to strengthen his full-back options ahead of next season, with Newcastle’s Tino Livramento his top target.

Porro has started 24 of Spurs’ 30 Premier League matches this season, cementing himself as first choice right-back at the club.

The 26-year-old would not be the only player to leave Spurs in the transfer market, even if the club stay in the Premier League, as they won’t be able to offer European football next season.
