‘Fallen out with Poch’, ‘Cheerio’ – Tottenham fans react to Twitter message from first-team ace

Toby Alderweireld sent a message saying he is “all smiles” ahead of Belgium’s game against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday night.

He posted the short upbeat message and a set of shots of him training with his Belgium teammates as Spurs fans are still waiting to see him back in Premier League action.

Their next game is against Chelsea on Sunday and Tottenham fans are hoping that the message means that he’ll be fit to play for his club.

Alderweireld has been the subject of mixed messages, with his international manager claiming he was totally fit and ready to play.

That seems at odds with the message coming from his club manager, with Mauricio Pochettino not playing him in the Premier League since October.

He was made two FA Cup appearances over the past two months, but he was said to have suffered a reaction and he hasn’t been seen since.
