Tottenham fans will be ‘excited’ after Karim Adeyemi update – expert

Tottenham have been backed to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton described him as a “nightmare” for people to defend against.

The 22-year-old has been offered to Premier League teams this summer, and it has been reported that Spurs are one of the teams in the race to sign him.

Even though the forward scored just three goals in 21 Bundesliga appearances last season, he did provide some thrilling displays in the Champions League.

Tottenham signing Karim Adeyemi would be a statement of intent

Spurs are in the market to bolster their attacking options this summer as Ange Postecoglou revamps his team.

Tottenham sees the attacking area of the team as a critical area to focus on this summer, and a wide forward such as Adeyemi could tick that box.

“He’s a nightmare for defenders,” Hutton told Football Insider.

“He gives your full-back a sleepless night, he’s one of those guys who’s very direct, he’s pacy, can go both ways.

“[He] really gets the fans excited, so I’m not surprised that this is what they’re looking at.

“The style of football that Tottenham plays, that’s what it’s like, it’s all action; all gung-ho, get at them and score as many goals as you want, so it doesn’t really surprise me.

“Again, it will come down to costs and fees and wages and things like that and if they can get something done.

“Tottenham are a massive club, and you can tell with the names that they’re going for that they’re really looking to take it to the next level.”
