Tottenham are ready to allow a trio of their top prospects to leave the club on loan in the upcoming transfer, according to a report.
Football news website football.london claim that the highly rated Marcus Edwards, Anthony Georgiou and Shayon Harrison are all set to depart temporarily, having each featured on the fringes of the senior squad this season.
Georgiou, who signed a new, three-year contract in November, was handed his first team debut in the club’s win away at Apoel Nicosia in the Champions League this campaign, while Edwards and Harrison were given their first appearances in the League Cup last season.
Only striker Harrison has experience outside of Spurs, having spent the second half of last season at loan to Yeovil Town, but the trio all look set to exit in order to further their development through first team action.
In addition to the three hottest prospects at Spurs, youngsters Luke Amos and Christian Maghoma are also tipped to depart on loan in the upcoming window.
Football Insider verdict
The trio of young talents have all been given the experience of first team action under Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs, but it is about time they were picking up regular minutes if the manager feels they are ready for it. There is no doubt that game time is the best way to build skills and develop prodigal talents, but there is also the mental aspect to take into consideration – they might be ready physically, but are they ready to deal with the pressure of professional football where every result matters? It also gives Spurs the chance to see whether they have what it takes to survive in such an environment, which is crucial for a future at such a club with major aspirations.
